Import data in Microsoft Outlook


How to import data in Outlook

This is very useful when you are looking to import mail/contacts/calendars from another email service. You can import all Outlook data if required as well.

For Outlook 2000 and 2002(XP)

1. On the File menu, click Import and Export. If the menu item is not available, hover your pointer over the chevrons at the bottom of the menu, and then click Import and Export.

2. Click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.

3. Select Personal Folder File (.pst) , and then click Next. 

4.  Specify file name you wish to import data from. If you are importing this data from another Outlook profile, the default location for Windows XP is c:\documents and settings\username\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook. Click Next.

5. Select the folder you wish the data to be imported from.

6. Click Finish.

For Outlook 2003 and 2007

1. On the File menu, click Import and Export. If the menu item is not available, hover your pointer over the chevrons at the bottom of the menu and then click Import and Export. 

2. Click Import from another program or file, and click Next.

3. Select Personal Folder File (.pst) , and then click Next.

4. Specify file name you wish to import data from, and then click Next.
