Occassionally, a BlackBerry device will have a problem activating. When this happens, it is recommended to perform a security wipe and try again.
Note: Before you can activate a BlackBerry Device to sync wirelessly with your Exchange mailbox, your account needs to be added to the BlackBerry Enterprise server. If you're not sure if you've been added, please contact us. If you replace your BlackBerry device and need to activate your new one, please contact us to reset your account on the BlackBerry Server. You will not be able to activate until the account is reset, because it is associated with your old device.
Note: Please verify with your wireless provider that you are on the correct data plan for BlackBerry Enterprise Server. If you are not on the correct data plan, the activation will not complete.
To reset your BlackBerry (erase all personal data, reset to factory defaults)
- From the home screen, select Options | Security Options
- Select General Settings
- On some devices, you now select "Services". If this isn't available, go to next step.
- Click the trackwheel, and select Wipe Handheld
- Click Continue
- When prompted, type "blackberry" to continue
- Your BlackBerry device will erase all the data and put the settings back to factory default
- After your device resets, turn the wireless radio back on
- Attempt the Enterprise Activation again.
If you get an error message that says "contact your system administrator", please contact Lanlogic so that we can reset your BlackBerry activation password. The activation password is valid for 72 hours or until it is used.
If the device sits at "activating" and never goes through the initialization of services, this means that it's not able to contact the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Most likely this is because the wireless provider does not have you on the correct data plan for BlackBerry Enterprise Server, or there is some kind of problem with the data network.
