NDR's when sending calendar invites from Exchange 2003 SP2 to Exchange 2007

I've been having a standing problem with one of our customers here. This customer would send meeting invites to specific users at another company who already migrated to Exchange 2007. She would get intermittent bounce backs, some would fail, some would not. Note that it was ONLY calendar invites - mail flow worked nomrally. The SMTP queue in Exchange showed "Unable to open message for delivery". It took almost 2 weeks troubleshooting with Microsoft Support to finally pin down the problem. IT required a hotfix from Microsoft and also a registry hack to enable the fix. We had to enable Exchange Transport Logging but after doing so, the event id: 327 MSExchangeTransport started logging a message with "The following call : EcGetMime to the store failed. Error code : -2147467259. MDB : <xxxxxxxx>. FID :<xxxx> . MID : <xxxx>. File :" Anyway, the hotfix it looks like fixed the issue for me but when searching for it myself - it was hard to find... Here it is just in case you might need it! Thank you to Tony Fernanez for all his help in getting this issue resolved!
